A 52 Week Autobiography Through Music – Week 29 – Western Classical Music
I admit that this is all a bit silly. I am giving lots of time to individual Rock and Roll artists yet I can't single out one composer of western Classical music that I would consider worthy of their own video. Not because I don't think they're important or worthy of respect but rather that I was personally never overly influenced or captivated by any one composer's music music in the way that I have been by the Rock and Jazz music I talk about.
Also, no matter how accepted it is I really don't like the term "Classical Music". Classical was a period in western music like Baroque or Romantic. To refer to the whole range of western art music music as "Classical" just kind of bugs me. I also don't like the term "Art Music"...
Here though is what wikipedia has to say about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Classical_music
but, but if you don’t like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJB_1ir1Z40

i probably did send you the goldberg variations, because one would, wouldn’t one, if one were me, what with the canadian content. but i think i also sent you another version of the unaccompanied cello suites, when i got the yoyo ma version and liked it better.
The Beatles song “Yesterday” has a string quartet. The day after its release, Classical music sales boomed. ( I have an album of Rimsky Korsakov Scheherazade titled “I Dig Rimsky Korsakoff” complete with a hippie style album cover with “I think he’s cool” and the word “love” in cartoon style balloons) This led to a lot of rock music fans expanding their horizons. The rock guitar–great era led myself to start exploring classical guitar and from there onto other instruments in classical music and the solos in classical pieces. Then on to opera.
