A 52 Week Autobiography Through Music – Week 31 – Frank Zappa

A 52 Week Autobiography Through Music - Week 31 - Frank Zappa from Pancycle on Vimeo.

As with many of the recent posts time has gotten the better of me and I haven't much to write. Frank's music tells its own story and all I can say is that listening to it took me to a lot of different places, provoked much thought and inspired me immensely. The wiki is a good place for biographical information but even better is the Real Frank Zappa Book

Here is a little video clip featuring Adrian Below who I mentioned last week in the King Crimson Video, and The Amazing Terry Bozzio - one of my favorite drummers and someone who I am happy to call a friend.

“Lumpy Gravy” was the first Zappa that I was exposed to. I was purchasing “Revolver” and “Sgt. Peppers” and noticed the album cover while flipping through the stacks. Kept it in mind and later started investigating Zappa. I love the guitar playing. He was virtually overlooked during the ‘guitar wars’ of the late sixties into the seventies.
